Having served as an executive member for forty-eight years, I am sending this notice to all Democratic executive members in the 18th Congressional District.

Illegal Voting Practices: It is a crime to accept pay for your vote. Any such actions undermine the integrity of our democratic process and will not be tolerated.

Endorsements and Nominations: It is important to remind elected officials that their endorsement should not be the sole determining factor in nominating a candidate for the vacancy in the 18th Congressional District. Officials are elected to be the voice of their constituents, not just to follow party endorsements.

Criteria for Succession:

My approach to evaluating candidates for the 18th Congressional District vacancy includes:

Record Check: Assess the records of any elected official to determine what they have accomplished in their local district.

Experience Evaluation: Ensure that they possess the necessary experience and capabilities to meet the needs of the 18th Congressional District.

This process aims to ensure that any potential candidate is thoroughly vetted and genuinely represents the interests and needs of the community.
